DATE LIMITE: Proposition de sujet – Canadian animal law conference 2022

Send us your proposal to present at the fourth annual Canadian Animal Law Conference!
Deadline: Wednesday, April 13, 2022
Theme: Our theme of “Animal Law: Peril and Progress” contrasts the significant advances animal law has made in recent years with the reality that animals now face more threats than ever before. With animals at risk from human activities and our changing climate, among other factors, will the field of animal law be able to rise to the challenge of protecting them? Submissions need not relate directly to the conference theme. Topics may include ideas for legislative reform, reports on or plans for litigation strategies, issues relating to law enforcement, public policy initiatives, legal or other forms of education, recently published books, and historical or philosophical studies. Our primary focus is on Canada and North America, but international topics are also welcome.
Format: Most presentations will be grouped in panels of two to four. We particularly welcome panel proposals organized around a common theme. We also welcome proposals for traditional academic paper presentations, debates, and shorter presentations on cases and other topics of interest. We are planning for an in-person Conference, subject to public health guidance. Remote participation may be available for speakers who are unable to attend the Conference in person for pandemic-related reasons—please advise of this when submitting.
How to submit: Send the following to conference@animaljustice.ca:
-
Abstract & presentation title, maximum 150 words. Panel proposals should include a panel description, plus abstracts of up to 150 words per panelist. (Word file only.)
-
Biography, maximum 150 words. (Word file only.)
-
CV, maximum two pages. (Word or PDF file.)
-
Headshot (JPEG file). Photos may be posted on the Conference website. They will not be used to evaluate submissions.
