Calling all law students, policing and law enforcement students, veterinary students — as well as the professionals who guide and inspire them, including Crown prosecutors, veterinarians, and animal welfare officers. This is your chance to step inside the world of animal abuse prosecutions.

The Prosecution of Animal Abuse: Student Symposium is a special edition of the long-standing Prosecution of Animal Abuse Conference, now in its second decade. On January 14–15, 2026, this two-day event will bring together students and professionals to share expertise, build connections, and explore diverse pathways to advancing justice for animals.

Designed to inspire the next generation while offering a valuable refresher for those already working in the field, the symposium is a unique opportunity to learn, connect, and strengthen Canada’s collective response to animal abuse.
