2021 Virtual Hill Week for Nonanimal Science
« Join the Physicians Committee staff and fellow advocates for virtual Capitol Hill Week on Nov. 3-5, 2021 to lobby for nonanimal science.
Nonanimal research and testing that utilizes human biology is critical to improving scientific research and therapeutic development while saving animals from horrific experiments. Congress plays an important role in overseeing, funding, and setting the agenda of federal research and testing. PCRM’s Virtual Hill Week is your chance to speak with your federal representatives about the importance of supporting nonanimal research and testing and work that reduces and replaces animal experiments.

What is Hill Week?
Hill Day/Hill Week (or Lobby Day or Advocacy Day) is an event that typically occurs on Capitol Hill and allows people to speak directly with their members of Congress on issues of importance to them and the organizing group. Hill Days/Hill Weeks are a powerful way for constituents to advocate for a cause they believe in and for legislators to hear from the people they represent.
2021 Virtual Hill Week:
Rather than a day on the Hill, our virtual event will take place for a few hours over multiple days. Please join us and help influence your federal legislators! As an attendee, you will have the opportunity to participate in virtual meetings with your members of Congress or their staff to ask them to support nonanimal science. Physicians Committee staff will equip you with everything you need for successful meetings.
Details:
Participants will be grouped with others from their areas. PCRM will guide participants in setting up their own virtual group meetings with congressional offices. Some group coordination is required prior to the start of the event.
There will be a MANDATORY Kick-off Event on Nov. 3 from 12-2 p.m. ET accessible via Zoom or phone.
There will also be an Advocacy Check-in session on Nov. 4 from 12-1 p.m. ET and a Closing Session on Nov. 5 from 4-5 p.m. ET.
Brief ~30 min group meetings with 1-3 congressional offices will be scheduled throughout Nov. 3-5 depending on the availability of congressional offices.
Please join us for a webinar on Oct. 7 to hear more about the event, what to expect, and get questions answered.
If you register, it is important that you make every effort to attend as groupings and meetings will be planned according to your registration.
