Let’s Talk About Animal Testing
Description de l’événement:
« Join us for a discussion about the tragedy and failure of experiments on animals–and how we can stop them.
Amy Meyer, Director of Grassroots Organizing with Rise for Animals, will join NARN to provide an introduction to the cruelty happening to animals in labs, the laws that fail to protect them, and how animal models fail to predict human outcomes. She’ll also discuss how you can take action for animals in labs with Rise and locally in Washington.
Amy became a grassroots activist in 2005, and together with other activists and organizations has led several successful campaigns, including banning horse-drawn carriages from the streets of Salt Lake City, defeating Utah’s Ag-Gag law, and ending pound seizure in Utah.
Rachel Bjork of NARN will also be on hand to discuss what kinds of experiments are happening at the University of Washington and what you can do to help stop them.
