« Equine cruelty cases fall outside the experience and comfort level of many law enforcement agencies and prosecutors. They can be complex and protracted, involving hundreds of large and potentially dangerous animals with chronic and serious health and behavioral challenges. This presentation draws upon the experiences forged through the longtime partnership between a humane law enforcement agency and an equine rescue and rehabilitation organization as they share procedural best practices for successfully and humanely addressing these cases from report to rehoming. »
